Turkey’s main stock index plummet on Friday’s session


(MENAFN) The Turkish main stock index started Friday’s down at 2,008.05, dropping by 6.16 points, or 0.31 percent from the last ending.

On Thursday, the BIST 100 index plummeted 1.36 percent to end at 2,014.21 points, with an everyday exchanging capacity of 47.77 billion liras (USD3.55 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira trade rate jumped to 13.4325 on 9.30 a.m. domestic time (0630GMT), from 13.3570.

The euro/lira trade rate jumped to 15.2261 from 15.1810, whereas a British pound exchanged for 18.2575 liras, surging from 18.2340. Brent crude oil sold for about USD86.94 for one barrel on 10 a.m. domestic time (0700GMT).
