Manchester United bounced back from their collapse at Villa Park with a 3-1 victory over Brentford on Wednesday night.

Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood, and Marcus Rashford all scored in an impressive second-half display by Ralf Rangnick's side.

Elanga opened the scoring with a tidy finish after Fred wonderfully picked him out with a clipped ball over the backline of the Bees.

Greenwood doubled United's lead in what was an excellent move from the visitors. Cristiano Ronaldo's chest pass set Bruno Fernandes on his way who then sprinted in behind Brentford's defense and teed up Greenwood who had an empty net to aim at.

Rashford came on as a substitute and secured the three points with a confidence-boosting strike. It was a superb counterattack from United as Scott McTominay won the ball in the middle of the park. He then released Fernandes who slipped Rashford through and he hammered the ball past Jonas Lossl.

Ivan Toney scored the consolation goal for the home side five minutes before full-time.

Rangnick hooked Cristiano Ronaldo at 2-0 up and changed to a back three. As you might expect, the Portuguese striker did not take that too well but it meant United held on to their lead, unlike last weekend.

Brentford is back in action on Saturday when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers. For United, they return to Old Trafford and will battle their former manager David Moyes and West Ham United.
