The distribution and use of fake Green Card certificates on civil liability insurance of car owners will be prevented in Azerbaijan as a result of the integration of the e-information system of the union of legal entities of the Azerbaijan Compulsory Insurance Bureau and the e-information system of the State Customs Committee, Trend reports referring to the statement made at a press conference in connection with the completion of the integration of the systems of the State Customs Committee and the Compulsory Insurance Bureau upon the Green Card agreements.
According to the State Customs Committee, the cases of falsification of insurance certificates have been recently revealed in different countries when applying for compensation for damage as a result of insured events in connection with the cars registered in Azerbaijan.
In this regard, the appeals were sent to the law enforcement structures. The completion of the integration will play an important role in preventing such incidents.
The press conference participants emphasized that the integration work carried out between the State Customs Committee and the Compulsory Insurance Bureau will contribute to solving the problem associated with the sale of fake Green Card certificates.
The Bureau has recently received a lot of information about the sale of fake Green Card insurance certificates.
The Compulsory Insurance Bureau informs citizens that according to Article 63.2.2 of the law 'On Compulsory Insurance', the owner of a car registered in Azerbaijan must receive the Azerbaijani Green Card certificate by concluding an agreement only with local insurance companies entitled to operate in Green Card system.
The list of these companies is available on the website of the Compulsory Insurance Bureau and is regularly published in the media.
Green Card in the insurance sector is an international contract for civil liability insurance of car owners, as well as an agreement on mutual recognition by the member-states of the agreement of an insurance policy on liability insurance of car owners.
Today, the Green Card system includes 48 countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa (including Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Israel, Morocco, and Tunisia).
