Sony drops after Microsoft’s purchase for Call of Duty


(MENAFN) Sony's stocks plummeted in Tokyo markets after Microsoft announced its intentions to purchase Activision Blizzard; a major video game developer.

The USD68.7 billion (£50.5 billion) purchase would be Microsoft's highest investment overall, and the biggest in gaming industry.

The deal would give the US company control of popular gaming trademarks such as Call of Duty, Warcraft, and Overwatch.

The purchase would be a significant step forward for Microsoft's Xbox gaming platform in its combat against Sony's PlayStation.

This occurs after a year from Microsoft’s USD7.5 billion purchase for Bethesda, which an additional powerful gaming company.
