Hong Kong drives people away with strict Covid regulations

(MENAFN) A prominent business organization reports over 40 percent of its members think about departing Hong Kong because of the severity of Covid-19 regulations. Hong Kong’s American Chamber of Commerce considered closing borders to be a great problem, according to survey results.

The president of the organization reported to the BBC that she departed Hong Kong.
It discovered that 44 percent pf people mentioned their consideration of leaving the country after border closures and social limitations.

That comes against 26 percent of the firms which participated in the survey, reporting that they are contemplating the idea.

AmCham HK's outgoing-president Tara Joseph stated, “Companies are not keen to go - but for the staff there are all sorts of issues. Because they have personal lives, they have anxieties, they have families back home.”

She further said, “One of the things that's really hurting at this point is there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.”
