Azerbaijan and Turkey have launched the integration of Green Card system of civil liability insurance of car owners, Rashad Ahmadov, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Compulsory Insurance Bureau, said at a press conference, Trend reports.
“After the process is over, the availability of a Green Card in a car registered in Azerbaijan will be detected in the e-system while entering the Turkish customs checkpoints,” Ahmadov added.
The executive director stressed that the same refers to a car registered in Turkey while entering the Azerbaijani customs checkpoints.
“This will prevent entering of the cars with fake Green Card insurance certificates into the country,” Ahmadov said.
The executive director stressed that the integration is carried out on the initiative of the Compulsory Insurance Bureau between Azerbaijan and Turkey is the first experience in the activity of the Bureau's International Council.
Green Card in the insurance sector is an international contract for civil liability insurance of car owners, as well as an agreement on mutual recognition by the member-states of the agreement of an insurance policy on liability insurance of car owners.
Today, the Green Card system includes 48 countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa (including Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Israel, Morocco, and Tunisia).
