Doha: Many children were seen at the 31st Doha International Book Fair this evening as they were allowed to enter from 4pm to 9pm today.

The Minister of Culture, H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, posted many pictures of children browsing through various books and welcomed them to the fair saying they are the future intellectuals.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Culture announced that children are allowed to attend the Book Fair from today until the end of the fair in the evening for five hours.

The total number of children permitted at a time inside the fair should be a maximum of 15 percent of the total capacity and should be accompanied by their parents or in groups through schools.

The capacity of the exhibition at all times will be 2,000 visitors, according to Ministry of Health. Doors will be closed upon reaching the full capacity if the total number is reached inside the exhibition halls.

“The exhibition management will take all measures to preserve the safety of children by providing enough ventilation at the exhibition centre,” Ministry had said yesterday.
