Amman, Jan. 16 (Petra) -- The Central Planning Committee in the Ministry of Education Sunday recommended to put back the return to schools for the second semester of the 2021/2022 academic year until February 20th.
The planning committee said the recommendation will be viewed by the higher framework committee in its next meeting to make a decision.
Only 12th graders (Tawjihi) are excluded from the recommendation, the planning committee said, as they will start as planned, on February 1st, noting that the recommendation was necessitated by the epidemiological situation in Jordan and the world.
As for schools with international programs, the committee said they should be given the choice whether to start on February 20th or start the semester on the set date of February 1st, provided that classes are held remotely through February 20th when in-person education starts Kingdom-wide.
