Children allowed to attend 31st Doha International Book Fair from tomorrow

Doha: Children will be allowed to attend the 31st Doha International Book Fair 2022 from tomorrow until the end of the fair in the evening from 4pm to 9pm.

“Children are allowed to attend the Doha International Book Fair from January 18-22, 2022, taking all safety measures,” Ministry tweeted.

“The exhibition management will take all measures to preserve the safety of children by providing enough ventilation at the exhibition centre,” Ministry added.

The total number of children permitted at a time inside the fair should be a maximum of 15 percent of the total capacity, and should accompany their parents or groups through schools. 

Capacity of the exhibition at all times is 2,000 visitors, according to Ministry of Health. Doors will be closed upon reaching the full capacity if the total number is reached inside the exhibition halls.

Previously children were not allowed entry as they were not vaccinated.

With the participation of 37 countries and 430 publishing houses, the event is being organized by Ministry of Culture represented by Qatar Cultural and Heritage Events Center, under the slogan 'Knowledge is Light'.

Exhibition is open from Saturday to Thursday (9am to 10pm) and Friday (3pm to 10pm)

Entry to the exhibition will be through the pre-registration of visitors, as the registration code for the visit will be received via email. The code that will be received is valid for the visit during the specified day. The code is used when entering and exiting the exhibition.

Persons under 12 years old and have not received vaccinations are not allowed to enter the exhibition.
