Event management companies have planned a strong line up of mega-events in Qatar for 2022. Citizens and residents will have a chance to witness several high-profile trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences this year.
Some of the major events include Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ), Qatar International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ), Project Qatar, Hospitality Qatar and Finnovax.
A year full of trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences augurs well for economy. These events contribute to growth of local economy and boost income of companies in hospitality, tours and travel, tourism, aviation and other related sectors.
Organisers believe this year will be better than 2021 for the event management industry and economy as a whole.
IFP Qatar, one of the leading event organisers of trade shows in the country, has a bullish outlook for this year.

“The event management industry in Qatar has learned the ways to deal with the COVID-19 challenges. It is equipped with the measures to hold events in a safe manner and 2021 is a proof of this. Despite the challenging situation last year many mega events were held successfully,” Haidar Mshaimesh, General Manager, IFP Qatar told The Peninsula.
“The year 2022 promises to be an exceptionally exciting year in Qatar, offering businesses a wide range of new opportunities across different sectors,” he added.
IFP Qatar organised several events last year including Project Qatar and Hospitality Qatar.
“We believe this year to be better than the last year because people are now used to deal with the COVID-19 challenges. The vaccination rate in the country is also much higher this year compared to last year, which is another big advantage,” said Mshaimesh.
The proactive measures taken by the government organisations have infused confidence among event organisers, participating companies and public. Organisers stressed that the events will be held in meeting the health and safety requirements prescribed by the concerned authorities.
The 9th edition of AgriteQ & EnviroteQ, Qatar's only and largest exhibition serving the agriculture, food production & environment sectors, will be held from March 10 to 14 in Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
Finnovax, a summit on financial services innovation and excellence will be held on March 15.
Project Qatar, which is Qatar's longest running and most comprehensive business platform for the construction industry, scheduled from June 6 to 9 in DECC.
Hospitality Qatar, country's flagship event for hospitality, food & beverage, and tourism sector will be held from June 21 to 23 in DECC. According to event management companies, companies are also eager to participate in trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences.
The year 2021 was a successful year for event management companies. Despite the challenging situation created by COVID-19 pandemic, citizens and residents witnessed many big events. These events provided a platform for industry professionals and key players to market their products and services through exhibits, insightful conferences, a B2B (Business to Business) matchmaking program, and training.
The 6th edition of Hospitality Qatar, held from November 8 to 11 last year, witnessed footfalls of more than 11,000 visitors and participation of 170 exhibitors from 31 countries. Other events, which were held last year saw a huge response from public.
Giving more details about this year's ProjectQatar, Haidar Mshaimesh said that the event would feature a special 'Home Mart' dedicated zone where visitors can source the latest services and products to build their homes, including appliances, furniture, lighting, fit-outs, fixtures, and accessories. Welcoming high net worth consumers who are actively seeking products and inspiration, the HomeMart zone at Project Qatar will be the ideal avenue for leading suppliers to present their latest innovative products and on-trend solutions, he added.
