Following 6 years, Iranian representatives go to Saudi Arabia

(MENAFN) The Iranian state television reported that three Iranian representatives reached Saudi Arabia for the first time since 2016 to act for Tehran's task in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh announced in a press meeting "Three Iranian diplomats have arrived in Jeddah to start their work at the OIC."

He added that Tehran is prepared to revive its embassy in Riyadh, but said that this choice "depends on what practical measures the Saudi side will take."

Iran and Saudi Arabia started political relations before 6 years after an assault on the Saudi Embassy in Tehran when Shia cleric Nimr al-Nimr was killed by Saudi experts.
