(MENAFN) The military announced that a Jordanian army officer was murdered and three soldiers were hurt on Sunday on frontier with near Syria.
Smugglers started shooting on Jordanian frontier militaries, which reacted to the fire, according to a military declaration.
The attackers escaped to Syrian lands, and a large cache of drugs was detained, it added.
Jordan witnessed a lot of smuggling tries in latest years, mainly from Syria and Iraq due to failing security states in the two neighbors.
