China: Birth rate declines to record low


(MENAFN) China is facing a decreasing populace numbers, as the national birth rate declined to a record low last year.

The statistics issued by Chinese National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that the general birth rate decreased to 7.52 births for every 1,000 people last year, falling from 8.52 in 2020.

In accordance with the daily South China Morning Post, it stated that China's general population rising only by about 480,000 people, and this was the fifth year of drop for Chinese birth rate.

In 31 provinces, autonomous areas, and municipalities, the newest statistics revealed the populace increased to 1.4126 billion last year.
