Amazon: No more ban on UK's Visa credit cards


(MENAFN) Retail giant Amazon stated it will change its scheme to cease the acceptance of Visa credit cards that are released from the UK at a later time in January, following objections regarding high payment charges.

The firm which is located in Seattle sent an email on Monday to British clients to inform them of the news it won’t proceed with the step, which was originally decided to take place on Wednesday.

Amazon said, “The expected change regarding the use of Visa credit cards on Amazon.co.uk will no longer take place on January 19,” adding “we are working closely with Visa on a potential solution that will enable customers to continue using their Visa credit cards on Amazon.

Amazon initially reported, high charges decided by Visa in Britain were an “obstacle” to its economy. Charges pursued with growing in spite of tech developments in other places under the online payment sector.
