Don't Shut OPDs for Pregnant Women: J&K RTI Movement

Srinagar- Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement has appealed to Government not to shut down the Out Patient Department's (OPDs)in all the Govt hospitals especially for pregnant women patients under the garb of controlling COVID 19 pandemic.

Chairman RTI Movement Dr Raja Muzaffar said that on Friday many hospitals shut down their OPDs which includes SKIMS Medical College Bemina.

“At least 40 to 45 pregnant patients at SKIMS hospital Bemina had to return back without being examined as the hospital OPD was shut down around 12:45 pm as the SKIMS Bemina has been converted into designated COVID centre according to Govt.” said Dr Raja Muzaffar

“The pregnant patients are being referred to Lala ded hospital from various districts which is more dangerous as it will increase the rush of patients. I appeal authorities to throw open OPDs at least for pregnant women across Kashmir” Dr Raja Muzaffar added.
