LONDON — Citigate Dewe Rogerson has hired former Hawthorn Advisors managing director Lorna Cobbett as its new chief executive. The agency has also promoted Kevin Smith and Caroline Merrell to managing directors. MD Chris Barrie is departing the agency after 22 years to become corporate affairs and investor relations director at Associated British Foods.

LONDON — APCO Worldwide has promoted Daniella Lebor and Tom Short to deputy managing directors of its London office, working with MD Roi Feder. Lebor previously managed the agency's strategy and campaigns team and before APCO worked for the speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, where she focused on communications for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Short was previously global lead of APCO's learning and education practice and co-lead of its European technology practice in Europe. He joined in 2016 from Camargue. Director Will Browne has also been promoted to a new role as head of APCO Worldwide's London operations, while Amy Wendholt becomes head of positioning for London as well as being head of global new business.

DÜSSELDORF — Former L'Oréal senior vice president of institutional relations Denis Simonneau is joining Finsbury Glover Hering as a public affairs senior advisor. Before moving to the private sector, Simonneau had a career as a diplomat and a government official with posts in France, the US and Brussels. He joins partners Géraldine Amiel and Nathalie Falco, who launched the Finsbury Glover Hering Paris office in November and Katharina Blumenfeld, also a member of the Paris leadership team who was recently promoted to partner.

LONDON — Chris Ward, who worked with Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer for six years, latterly as deputy chief of staff, has been hired by Hanbury Strategy as a director.

LONDON — Strategic and creative advisory firm Blurred has hired four new team members after a year of 73% fee growth. Charlotte Higgo joins Blurred's management team as a consulting director, from APCO Worldwide where she was a director and co-led its European practice on impact, climate and sustainability. Cathal Wogan also joins Blurred's management team as a consulting director, having been an independent consultant for two years, working closely with international issues-driven law firm PGMBM on media and issues for some of the world's biggest corporate wrongdoing litigation related to environmental disasters in the global south, automotive pollution, healthcare device malfunction, and data and technology issues. The consultancy has also appointed two junior consultants: Yashvee Kalia, previously at Cicero/AMO, and Nathalie Diepstaten in her first permanent role, following internships at Lloyds Banking Group, Apella Advisors and Blurred.

LONDON — Boldspace has appointed former WPP and L'Oréal executive Aivory Gaw (pictured) to the newly-created role of chief brand officer. Gaw will sit on the agency's management team, leading all brand, creative and advertising activity and teams. She joins Boldspace from WPP, where she was global business development director, leading the group's work with GSK. She was previously at AKQA, with a seven-year stint spanning senior roles across strategy, client services and business development leading work for clients including Nike, Danone, Kimberly Clark, and LVMH Group. Before going agency-side, Gaw created digital marketing and campaigns for Lancôme at L'Oréal in Paris. The appointment follows Steph Bailey joining Boldspace as chief communications officer from FleishmanHillard in November.

LONDON — Built environment PR and strategic communications specialist ING Media, which became an employee-owned business last year, has appointed Damian Wild as managing director, as part of a management restructure to facilitate the employee-owned agency's next phase of growth. Wild, who is currently director of market development for EG, the real estate news, data and intelligence platform and publication, will take up the role in summer 2022. Damian was previously the long-standing editor-in-chief and publisher at EG. Current MD Leanne Tritton, who founded ING in 1999, will become executive chair, with executive chairman Tony Danaher stepping into an advisory role. Director Dominic Morgan will be promoted to executive director.

LONDON — Search-first creative agency Rise at Seven, founded by Carrie Rose and Stephen Kenwright in 2019, has appointed former Reprise SEO director Tasha Amponsah-Antwito to head up its SEO team. Amponsah-Antwito has worked with fashion, beauty, and travel brands including Gucci and Ralph Lauren as well as leading the global SEO team for Lego. The hire comes after Rise at Seven's announcement that it plans to open a New York office.

BRUSSELS — Public affairs network FIPRA has appointed Peter Tulkens as a partner. His consultancy, Politics Matters, which he founded in 2004 and which has represented Belgium in the global FIPRA network since 2007, will be incorporated into FIPRA International. Tulkens' experience includes being the leading advisor on sustainability policies for Belgian industry association Agoria, and helping to set up national electronic waste take-back scheme Recupel. He also set up a public affairs team at Ernst & Young post-Enron and has advised clients on mitigating health threats, security and defence.

LONDON — Stint, a new student work app that matches students with hospitality businesses that need staff for short shifts, has hired Harry Lang as its first chief marketing officer. He joins from Buzz Bingo, Britain's biggest bingo business, where he was marketing director. Lang previously held senior marketing positions at other online betting and gaming operators and began his career at Saatchi & Saatchi, where he worked on campaigns for Budweiser, Sony Playstation and Penguin Books. At Stint, Lang's brief is to lead and grow the marketing team, build brand strategy and awareness, improve use of analytics and reporting, and introduce an affiliate marketing and partnerships strategy.

LONDON — Scientific communications company Envision Pharma Group has appointed Julie Beeso as its global director of professional development and engagement. Having worked for almost 25 years across different medical communications roles in the UK and US, Beeso's remit includes developing, communicating and executing a professional development and talent management strategy for Envision Scientific Solutions. She joins from Oxford PharmaGenesis where she helped to set up and lead its patient engagement function.
