Doha: Focus International Qatar Region, a youth organisation, is spearheading a mental health campaign to raise messages of consolation in a society during the COVID-19 pandemic and the crises of the contemporary world. The campaign is titled 'Don't Lose Hope'.

The inauguration of the three-month campaign, which runs from January to April 1, will take place on Tuesday, January 18 from Qatar time 6pm onwards. The inaugural conference will be held through the Focus Qatar YouTube channel.

Muhammadali Shihab IAS, Additional Secretary to the Government of Nagaland and Author of the book 'The Fingerprint - The Life of a Young IAS Officer', published by DC Books, will inaugurate the Campaign.

The event will discuss topics that represent the four letters of hope, namely happiness, optimism, positivity and equilibrium. CP Shihab, a well-known motivational speaker and YouTuber in Kerala, will be presenting on optimism and positivity. Sajid Rahman, a young speaker, research scholar and member of the Radio Islam team, will speak on equilibrium and Syed Shaheer, psychologist and founder of Alchemy of Happiness and Team Incubation, will speak on happiness. The event will be attended by prominent health, socio-cultural activists from Qatar and India.

The details of the campaign were announced at a press conference. Chief Patron and Managing Director of Care & Cure, EP Abdul Rahman; Patron and Chairman of the Advisory Board, Dr. Nishan Purayil; Focus International Qatar Region CEO Haris PT; COO Ameer Shaji; Campaign General Convener and Social Welfare Manager Dr. K Rasee; and CFO Safeerussalam attended the press conference.

Focus Qatar, an organisstion that started in Qatar in 2015, is now known as Focus International and is spread across Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India, Bahrain, Oman and the UAE.

Societal issues are always the focus its campaigns. Campaigns against addiction (La Tudmanu), Heal the Heart Heal the World, Don't be excessive (Laa Thusrifoo), and the health campaign health in four dimension had achieved public attention.

The present times are going through many crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, the proliferation of social media, global crises, narrow mindedness and social inequalities. Such crises can only be overcome if mental health is achieved along with physical fitness. The organisers pointed out that the campaign would help to spread awareness and message of living a happy and healthy community life by overcoming worries and anxieties.

ICBF and Radio Suno & Olive Network will be the campaign partners.

Naseem Medical Center and Five Point Entertainment will be participating in the campaign. Different types of programmes are planned for communities — for youth, women, students, low-income workers, and professional employees.

As part of the campaign, events like short film, photography competitions, as well as cultural events, art and sports competitions will be organised for the public, the organisers said.
