Google purchases location in London worth USD1B

(MENAFN) With obtaining a USD1 billion (£762.5 million) location in London, which is temporarily a rental, Google is wagering on a possible comeback to the office.

The future of the office had been doubtful because of Covid-19 lockdowns, however Google gambled bigtime on work recovering, and going back to normal on Friday.

Ronan Harris, head of UK Google, stated that “we want to reinvigorate the work environment. We're making this commitment to rebuild. We're buying these buildings and we're keen to see everybody come back in and see a vibrant workspace again.”

The purchase of the Central St Giles office, in London, coincides with the company's construction of a new facility in King's Cross.
