KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat says power imports from neighbouring Uzbekistan have returned to normal following the resolution of technical problems.

Earlier, DABS said that Uzbekistan had reduced electricity exports to Afghanistan by 60 percent without coordination with the company due to technical issues.

“A technical issue happened at the Tailimarjan Station of Uzbekistan. That's why electricity exports to Afghanistan were reduced,” the power utility added.

In a statement issued today, DABS said:“With the issue at the Tailimarjan Station resolved, the power supply is back to normal.”

It suggested there could be short outages due to lack of electricity and overload on power cables.

Afghanistan is currently meeting its electricity needs via imports from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Iran.
