Buyers who benefit from after holiday sale drop by 32 percent over coronavirus worries


(MENAFN) Based on what new data demonstrates, on Monday, the number of individuals benefiting from after holidays sales dropped by 32 percent in comparison to two years ago, amidst continuing coronavirus worries. Moreover, retail analyst Springboard stated that footfall numbers were better than Boxing Day.

But famous shopping places like central London witnessed a fall triggered relatively by disturbance to rail facilities. Consumers decided to go to retail parks on Monday, but footfall there was remained down by 7.2 percent from its levels before the pandemic.

That opposed with a severe fall in footfall on High Streets, dropping by 40.1 percent of two years ago, and in shopping centers, which registered a 38.8 percent fall.

According to Diane Wehrle, insights director at Springboard statement, "the greater attraction of retail parks is in part likely to be a result of shoppers restocking groceries following the weekend's festivities."
