Ukraine receives 650,000 tonnes of coal from US, Colombia, Australia


(MENAFN) A sum of 650,000 tonnes of coal will be transported in Ukraine via sea to guarantee a steady heating season between this year and the upcoming one.

Energy Minister of Ukraine German Galushchenko reported at a news briefing, “Ukraine has enough energy resources. Thanks to the work, in particular of nuclear and thermal generation, we are going through a period of low temperatures smoothly,” mentioned a journalist from Ukrinform.

As he reported, 650,000 tonnes of coal are thought to get to Ukraine through the sea, containing the US, Colombia and Australia.

The minister additionally said that the present gas reserves in the storage buildings surpass 14.5 billion cubic meters, satisfying the heating season.
Energy minister Galushchenko stated, “Naftogaz has the necessary resources but imports will be increased if necessary.”
