Marriott International Hotels In Jordan Marked International Volunteer Day With Environmental Initiatives At Mujib Adventure Center

(MENAFN- Marriott) JORDAN, DECEMBER 2021 – In celebration of International Volunteer Day 2021, the Jordan Marriott Business Council represented by Amman Marriott Hotel, Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel, The St. Regis Amman, W Amman, Al Manara, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Saraya Aqaba, Dead Sea Marriott Resort & Spa and Petra Marriott Hotel came together to show their commitment to the natural and cultural heritage by volunteer activities to beautify the Mujib Adventure Center area in collaboration with Wings of Hope Society (WOHS), the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of several Jordanian companies and The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN).

Marriott Hotels’ associates led the initiatives by planting new trees and pruning the existing trees at the entrance and the side park to beautify the landscape. The volunteers divided into groups for fixing and organizing the stones at the main entrance and cleaning the solar system area. In order to provide safe and friendly environment, the playground got painted and the nets of the volleyball and football courtyard renewed for all the visitors. They cleaned the beach by collecting the garbage and making a significant contribution towards nature and environment. The Jordan Marriott Business Council keeps working towards a common goal by developing a sustainable tourism destination not only in Dead Sea, but all destinations in Jordan.

Mujib Adventure Center is the starting point of all the activities to explore Wadi Al Mujib and a special spot for the adventure lovers around the world. Bordering the Dead Sea at 416 meters below sea level, the Mujib Biosphere Reserve surrounds Wadi Mujib, a deep and majestic canyon that cuts through the rugged highlands and drains into the Dead Sea. It is home to a vast biodiversity that includes 300 species of plants and numerous species of resident and migratory birds.
