Saudi - 'Ithra” Unveils Winner of Ithra Prize for Arts at Diriyah Biennale


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Dhahran, December 11, 2021, SPA -- King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture“Ithraa” today announced the winning artwork of the 4th edition of the Ithra Art Prize, titled“E Pluribus Unum – A Modern Fossil”, at the inaugural Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale.
Tunisian-Ukrainian artist Nadia Kaabi-Linke won the $100,000 Ithra Art Prize, for her artwork that sheds light on one of the impacts of the Corona pandemic, which cast a shadow on commercial flights around the world, and caused a decline in commercial air traffic, and highlights questions about how the humanity progress and economic growth are measured. This monumental work of 19 panels depicting a set of cracks on a banner bearing an arrow, a symbol associated with aviation and economic growth, stimulates a rethinking of priorities.
