NATO requests Russia to calm down Ukrainian war

(MENAFN) NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg requested that Russia calm down its fight with Ukraine to try resolving the disaster in a governmental way.

Stoltenberg updated the Berlin-based Friedrich-Ebert Foundation by video link "We call on Russia to de-escalate and reduce tensions (with Ukraine) and to be transparent about their intentions," adding "We really hope that this time Russia will not use military force but respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of a sovereign and independent state in Europe – Ukraine.”

He also rang a bell over a "very serious situation" among the rising war between both countries, and blamed Moscow of "not wanting Ukraine to be an independent and sovereign nation."

The NATO leader restated the "need for a political solution" in the war.
