Amman, Dec. 9 (Petra) -- A delegation of the Jordanian parliamentary friendship committee with Gulf Countries and Yemen has held separate meetings in Riyadh with a number of senior Saudi officials, during which they discussed means to develop bilateral parliamentary cooperation mechanisms.
A statement by the committee on Thursday said talks during the meetings tackled the deep-rooted relationship between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and the importance of developing trade exchange; which stood at $5 billion in 2021.
The Jordanian officials also highlighted the need to connect the electric power grids of the two countries through a transmission line, expressing Jordan's willingness to boost bilateral technical cooperation.
The delegates also affirmed Jordan's endeavor to attract more Saudi investments, and embark trade partnerships with Saudi Arabia's private sector.
The Saudi officials underscored the need to further develop bilateral business and investment opportunities, commending the qualified Jordanian labor and its ability to integrate in the Saudi labor market.
