Japanese billionaire goes on space journey


(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa and his fellow Yozo Hirano were sent to space in a Russian-built Soyuz capsule.

The spacecraft launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 0738GMT, and may enter to the International Space Station at 1330GMT.

The journey is going to last for 12 days under the demand of expert Russian cosmonaut Aleksander Misurkin.

The Japanese billionaire and his fellow trained for half a year in Moscow ahead of going to the trip.

Maezawa shared on Twitter when he went for the trip "Dreams come true," the Japanese billionaire tweeted after the launching.

A US-based space company Space Adventures planned this journey, which its cost amounted to almost USD90 million.
