(MENAFN) Based on a survey published on Wednesday by the US Labor Department, the number of job vacancies jumped to a top score of 11 million towards the end of October.
While the anticipation for job opportunities amounted at 10.3 million, last month's number stood at 10.6 million.
According to the Labor Department statement, "hires were little changed at 6.5 million and total separations edged down to 5.9 million. Within separations, the quits rate decreased to 2.8% following a series high in September. The layoffs and discharges rate was unchanged at 0.9%."
The number of individuals leaving their occupations declined in October to reach 4.2 million, from a number of 4.43 million the month that precedes it.
