Ukraine, Croatia sign five documents


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) At the conclusion of the visit of Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković to Kyiv, five joint documents were signed.

'The Government of Ukraine is committed to building a mutually beneficial partnership with Croatia and will make every effort to further remove barriers in our bilateral relations,' Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stressed, the Government portal informs.

Thus, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković signed a joint Declaration on Ukraine's European Prospects. The Declaration determines priority areas for Ukraine–Croatia cooperation within the strategic course of our country towards full membership in the European Union.

Moreover, during the 2nd meeting of Joint Ukraine–Croatia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation the following documents were concluded:



The Agreement on Cooperation between the State Archival Service of Ukraine and the Croatian State Archives. This document will allow the countries to ensure equal access rights for Ukrainian and Croatian researchers to archival documents. The signing of the agreement will have a positive impact on further intensification and development of professional, scientific, and cultural ties between Ukraine and Croatia.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia on Cooperation in Railway Transport. The agreement should provide conditions for the unimpeded rail transportation of passengers, goods, and mail between the countries.



The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Metrology between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the State Office for Standardization and Metrology of the Republic of Croatia. The exchange of information and best practices of Croatia will facilitate Ukraine's compliance with the provisions of the Association Agreement regarding technical barriers to trade and preparations for the conclusion of the ACAA.

In addition, the parties signed the Action Plan of Ukraine–Croatia Working Group for 2022/2023 which, among other things, provides for the exchange of experience with Croatia on the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories, rehabilitation of veterans and internally displaced persons, mine action, and strengthening national security.

As reported, on December 8, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković. On the same day, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with the Prime Minister of Croatia. The parties discussed deepening cooperation in trade, economy, tourism, digitalization, and education.
