U.S. completing delivery of additional security aid to Ukraine - Pentagon

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The American government has prepared and is ready to send to Ukraine as early as this week the last batch of a $60 million-worth security assistance package President Joe Biden approved in September this year.

That's according to Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby, Ukrinform's own correspondent reported from Washington.

“I think you know President Biden approved a $60 million security assistance package; the final elements of that will be arriving in Ukraine this week,” Kirby told a briefing on Wednesday, December 8.

Asked to clarify what the assistance package includes, the Pentagon spokesman said the batch consists of“small arms and ammunition.”

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the White House announced the allocation of an additional package of defense support for Ukraine during Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington in early September.

In addition, the U.S. and Ukrainian defense chiefs signed a Framework Agreement on the Strategic Foundations of the Defense Partnership.
