Iranian export of steel exceeds USD4b


(MENAFN) Iran exported steel commodities that value about USD4.5 billion involving ingots, profiles, as well as sheets during the period from March 21 till November 21 of the current Iranian calendar year, recording a 14-percent increase on a yearly basis.

Based on the spokesperson of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rohollah Latifi, steel products amounted for 14.5 percent of the nation’s overall non-crude exports in the stated time span.

Latifi expressed that about 11.067 million tons of different iron and steel products that value USD3.735 billion were exported during last year, of which 2.23 million tons were iron ore and other similar raw products.

The official also stated, exports of steel commodities during the same period but of this present year have surpassed the overall figure for last year by USD800 million.
