Ukraine collaborates with E5P to draw USD155.5 for energy schemes


(MENAFN) The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine says that the second stage of collaboration with the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) is going to aid Ukraine in drawing EUR 137.5 million (about USD155.5) for power efficiency schemes.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, "the E5P size for Ukraine is EUR 137.5 million which can be used along with loans from international financial institutions to support investments in energy efficiency projects. Part of these funds has already been raised for implementation of the projects."

Based on Deputy Minister of Energy Yulia Pidkomorna, the relation with the E5P offers for long-term collaboration and particular investment schemes, in precise, the transformation of district heating supply and the finance of public constructions.

Pidkomorna stated, "the implementation of such projects will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, cut the energy intensity of industrial sector, and bring us closer to achieving global climate goals."
