More than 12 deaths in cholera epidemic in DR Congo


(MENAFN) As announced by a health official, over 30 cases of cholera, in addition to a lot of deaths, were registered in not more than three days in South Kivu area in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The epidemic affected the Kumbi Lulenge health zone in Fizi land.

The head of medical officer of the Kumbi Lulenge health zone, informed journalists, the first case was found and could have range from the Miba village mining part, Cos Kenemo, on Saturday.

He added that patients were going to the hospital in critical state, a situation that could be the reason behind the high figure of deaths.
