Saudi Arabia: Detained man in France not related to reporter Khashoggi assassination

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia rejected that a suspected member of the team who killed the reporter Jamal Khashoggi in 2018 in Istanbul embassy was detained in France.

The consulate in Paris urged media reports for the detention of a Saudi inhabitant in France on suspicion of an assassination case "incorrect", according to a tweet mentioning the Saudi Foreign Ministry.

The consulate also said the detained person has "nothing to do with the case in question."

It requested to free him "immediately", as affirming that the wrong person was detained.

The Saudi judges stated decisions against all people engaged in the "heinous murder" and they are now preparing verdicts.
