Saudi Kingdom rejects France’s arrest of suspect in Khashoggi murder case

(MENAFN) On Tuesday evening, Saudi Arabia rejected news that a suspect of the hit group, which killed reported Jamal Khashoggi in 2018 in the Kingdom's Istanbul consulate, was captured in France.

The embassy in Paris addressed the Saudi foreign ministry in a tweet saying press briefings regarding the capture of a Saudi national in France for suspecting that he is a part of the killing case are “incorrect.”

The embassy stated that the captured individual has “nothing to do with the case in question.”

The embassy said that he must be freed "immediately,” preserving their claim that France detained the wrong individual.

On Tuesday’s morning, France declared the capture of the 33 year-old Aedh Al-Otaibi at the Charles de Gaulle Airport.
