Bill Gates visits Qatar Foundation

Doha - Co-Chair and Trustee of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation HE Bill Gates has visited Qatar Foundation, with the two foundations looking to work together on mutually beneficial projects focused on health and sustainability.

During his visit to Education City, on which he was joined by Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani, Gates gained an overview of the Qatar Foundation (QF) ecosystem of education, research and innovation, and community development from the eighth floor viewing balcony at the 2015 building (QF Headquarters).

Gates was also accompanied on the visit by President of QFs Hamad Bin Khalifa University Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah, CEO of the World Innovation Summit for Health, QFs global health initiative, Sultana Afdhal, and Executive Director of QF's Vice Chairperson/CEO Office Maryah Al Dafa.

Since 2008, Gates has devoted himself full-time to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a non-profit organization which is committed to fighting poverty, disease, and inequity around the world. Before that, Gates co-founded Microsoft Corporation in 1975, which went on to become the worldwide leader in business and personal software and services.
