Doha: The Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkish President H E President Recep Tayyip Erdogan chaired the 7th meeting of the Turkey-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee, which was held at the Amiri Diwan, this morning.
At the beginning of the meeting, H H the Amir welcomed the Turkish President and the accompanying delegation, noting the importance of the meetings of the Supreme Committee and the meetings of officials of the two countries in order to achieve its goals in consolidating the Qatari-Turkish strategic partnership, hoping that the agreements that will be signed between the two sides contribute to achieving what the people aspire to from interests in various fields.
For his part, the Turkish President expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH The Amir for the warm reception and hospitality he and the accompanying delegation received, stressing that this session will enhance the existing joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various areas of partnership, calling on HH the Amir for the eighth session of the Supreme Strategic Committee in Turkey next year.
During the meeting, His Highness the Amir and the Turkish President discussed ways to consolidate and develop strategic cooperation relations between Qatar and Turkey and the prospects for upgrading them at various levels, especially the economy, investment, industry, defense and security, endowments, media, culture and sports.
His Highness the Emir and His Excellency the Turkish President had held a bilateral meeting, during which they exchanged views and views on the latest regional and international situations of common concern.
The meeting of the committee was attended by H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers. On the Turkish side, it was attended by Their Excellencies the Ministers, members of the official delegation accompanying the President.
An official reception ceremony was held for His Excellency the Turkish President.
