(MENAFN) According to Eurostat announcement on Tuesday, Gross domestic product (GDP) in the euro area increased 3.9 percent on an annual basis during the period from July to September of this year, surpassing a flash prediction of 3.7 percent.
GDP in the EU jumped 4.1 percent during the mentioned quarter, in comparison to the corresponding time span of the previous year. The eurozone/euro area or EA19 stands for the member countries that use the single currency, the euro, whereas the EU27 defines all member nations of the EU.
Once every three months, the number was in track with the flash prediction for both the euro area and the EU27.
According to a Eurostat statement, "in the third quarter of 2021, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 2.2% in the euro area and by 2.1% in the EU compared with the previous quarter."
