UAE’s weekly holiday changes to Saturday-Sunday off


(MENAFN) The UAE’s federal government sections are decided to modify their working days starting from the first day in the coming year, while most of the nation is expected to work accordingly.

Employees of the public industry at the ministerial level will start working for four days and a half, alongside workers functioning Monday to Thursday. In addition to working half a day on Fridays.

The new weekend is set to be on Saturdays and Sundays.

The governments of Dubai and Abu Dhabi stated that their workers would function according to the chosen hours. It is also understood that schools will follow along on the start of the semester, as hours are predicted to be declared in no time.

The UAE Government Media Office announced that the new order “will better align the Emirates with global markets, reflecting the country’s strategic status on the global economic map.”
