Qatar - 37th session of Council of Arab Justice Ministers begins

Cairo: The 37th session of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers kicked off yesterday at the headquarters of the Arab League's General Secretariat, with the chairpersonship of Algeria. 

During the meeting, the delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by Minister of Justice H E Masoud bin Mohammed Al Ameri. 

The meeting addressed the enhancement of the Arab cooperation in the legal and judicial field, and launched discussions on several agreements and draft laws, including the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism and its implementation mechanisms, and the Arab Convention on Combating Money-laundering and the Financing of Terrorism, in addition to enhancing Arab and International cooperation in the field of combating terrorism. 

The meeting also addressed the Arab Convention to Combat Crimes of Information Technology, and reviewed an indicative draft Arab law to prevent hate speech, and a draft Arab convention on the situation of refugees in Arab countries, as well as a draft Arab protocol to limit the illicit spread of weapons in the Arab region - supplementing the Arab convention against transnational organized crime. 

Several items and documents related to joint Arab action were also reviewed.
