Iran’s imports of basic necessities surpass USD12b


(MENAFN) According to Mehr News Agency, Iran imported 20.322 million tons of basic necessities that value USD12.436 billion during the period from March 21 till November 21 of the present Iranian calendar year, 62 percent higher than the figure for the same time span of the previous year.

Based on the spokesperson of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rohollah Latifi, the imports of basic necessities during the stated time frame also rose by 30 percent regarding weight.

The stated products amounted for 75 percent of the nation’s overall imports regarding weight and 38 percent of the overall worth of the imports in the mentioned period.

Sugar, wheat, basic machinery, chemical fertilizers, soybean meal, edible oils, oilseeds, barley, as well as corn were amongst the imported necessary products.
