American firm Patagonia gives USD10M for environmental organizations

(MENAFN) American outdoor apparel and gear seller Patagonia is giving away an amount of USD10 million in retail and Black Friday online turnovers as part of its promise to achieve renewability and protecting the environment.

Patagonia will give the donation to “grassroots non-profits working on the front lines to protect our air, water and soil for future generations”, stated Rose Marcario, previous president and chief executive of Patagonia on Monday, Dec. 6.

The deals exceeded the firm’s predictions, reported Ms Marcario, who participated in the boards of electric car firm Rivian and plant-based protein small company Meati Foods.

She mentioned, “We expected to reach USD2 million in sales.” Ms Marcario also said that the firm’s clients said it was a “fundraiser for the Earth.”

She informed, “The enormous love our customers showed to the planet on Black Friday enables us to give every penny to hundreds of grassroots environmental organisations working around the world,” adding “many of these environmental groups are underfunded and under the radar.”
