Pope Francis advises internationally corresponding act to resolve immigrant issue

(MENAFN) Pope Francis condemned European stance on refugees, and advised internationally corresponding act to stop the problem since he went to Greek island Lesbos on the second day of his visit.

In an address at the Mavrovouni immigrant camp on the island, Pope Francis stated the issue of irregular migration is a problem of the world, to which no one can close their eyes.

He added “We are in the age of walls and barbed wire”, with the European Union strengthening frontier rules.

Pope Francis also cautioned that issues are not fixed by "building walls higher, but by joining forces to care for others ... and in respect for the law, always giving primacy to the inalienable value of the life of every human being.”
