Mexican Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard said the remarkable Qatari presence in various sports and cultural activities in Mexico represents a unique strategy for strengthening bilateral relations and bonds of co-operation, QNA reported. This came in a speech delivered by Ebrard during a sporting event organised by the Institute for Mexicans Abroad of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs, in which Qatar's ambassador to Mexico Mohamed bin Jassim al-Kuwari participated. In his speech on the occasion, al-Kuwari underlined that sport represents an important cultural dimension within the framework of bilateral relations between Qatar and Mexico, pointing out that football was and still is one of the most important activities that has brought the peoples of the two countries close over the past years, especially as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 approaches.
