Germany: Hospitals prepare for rising coronavirus cases at Christmas

(MENAFN) Temporary Health Minister Jens Spahn rang a bell that Germany will witness a shocking increase in the figure of seriously ill coronavirus patients during the upcoming three weeks.

Spahn in a news session in Berlin, announced the lately approved restrictions are going to show their effect just following some weeks, and a rising trend in hospitalizations and intensive care unit (ICU) admissions is still persistent.

According to the Health Minister “The situation in intensive care units is likely to reach a tragic peak around Christmas,” also noting that many hospitals in coronavirus zones are previously full and have ran out of ICU beds.

Spahn called residents to follow hygiene and social distancing measures and lessen not important contacts with others to stop the transmission of the virus.
