Srinagar- Coronavirus claimed the lives of two more people in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday while 181 more persons, including 33 travelers tested positive for the deadly infection across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

According to officials, two more people died of Covid-19 related complications in Kashmir Valley on Friday, raising the death toll in J&K to 4479 —2185 in Jammu and 2294 in Kashmir.

About the new cases, the officials said, 125 were reported from the Valley while the remaining 56 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year to 331257.

In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported highest 56 new cases of virus, Baramulla 41, Budgam 11, Bandipora 7, Kupwara and Ganderbal 4 each and one new case each in Anantnag and Pulwama. The twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian reported no new cases.

In the winter capital, officials said, Reasi reported a maximum of 31 new Covid-19 cases, Jammu 18, Doda 5 and one new case each in Rajouri and Poonch.

No cases were reported from five districts of Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar Ramban and Udhampur.

'Moreover, 168 Covid-19 patients were recovered during the time, 35 from Jammu Division and 133 from Kashmir,' the officials added.
