Afghanistan's former president Hamid Karzai in his recent interview said the Taliban's government must represent the entire Afghan population and gain domestic legitimacy to be recognized by the International Community.

Hamid Karzai said the Taliban need grand assembly-Loya Jirga- to gain legitimacy inside the country.

The former president asked for the recognition of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan but added that domestic legitimacy is vital and these two should happen parallel.

Karzai said that the Afghan people do not want inference in their internal issues and that the world must engage with the Taliban to be supported.

The call on the international community comes as an exclusive committee of the accreditation of the UN defer seats for the Taliban and Myanmar military junta in UNGA.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has reacted to the decision and said that the decision is unjust and unprincipled.

Being a top priority of the Taliban, they have expedited efforts to invite the world countries to reopen their embassies in Kabul and ultimately recognize them.
