Amid omicron variant, Ursula von der Leyen urge countries to open their borders


(MENAFN) The European Commission suggested a day-to-day evaluation and reviews of travel measures to end the increase of the new omicron coronavirus variant.

EU official for health Stella Kyriakides informed a news session as the EU managerial organization’s latest leadership for EU member states within the sharply increasing COVID-19 infections and the omicron variant “We are facing again a very worrying epidemiological situation.”

The European Commission in another announcement, urged EU nations to open their frontiers with everyday assessments of vital travel measures, to organize with each other to follow the final spread of the new variant, and to be prepared for all essential controls.
