Doha: Upscale your garden with new addition of plants as the 4th Flower Festival has been officially launched yesterday at Western Square in Souq Waqif.
The festival, which will run until December 11, features 24 farms and nurseries specialised in the production of flowers, fruit trees, seedlings of vegetables, plants and ornamental trees.
Souq Waqif General Manager Mohammed Al Salem said the farms and nurseries were selected by the Ministry of Municipality in a way to offer different type of products to visitors.
“These nurseries are offering various products such as seedlings, ornamental plants, flowers, pesticides and fertilizers.”
Al Salem explained that the festival is being held to familiarise the public with the local entities working in the field of flowers, including farms, nurseries and companies.
He also encouraged the public of different groups and ages to visit the festival and enjoy watching the various types of flowers displayed in one place and under one roof.
Expect a new version for this year's festival, it has a garden of flowers and waterfalls of roses at the centre of the area. Visitors can witness the flowers bloom in this radiant garden day and night.
The festival is being held this week as it coincides with the flower-growing season.
Speaking to The Peninsula, Marivic Antonino, who consistently visit the flower festival, said:“The festival offers plants and flowers for a cheaper price, more so you can also shop for decorations that could add on to the styling of your garden.”
The 4th Flower Festival is open from Saturday to Thursday, 9am to 9pm, and on Friday, 1pm to 10pm. All visitors should show their green status on Ehteraz application, wear mask and maintain social distancing so as to follow the COVID-19 precautionary measures.
