Iran’s transit of commodities surpasses 1m tons in one month


(MENAFN) According to the spokesperson of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) announcement, commodities transit through the country posted a new high price level in the eighth Iranian calendar month of Aban (October 23-November 21).

As IRIB reported, Ruhollah Latifi mentioned that 1.153 million tons of commodities were transported through the nation during the stated period.

Based on former statement by IRICA Head Mehdi Mir-Ashrafi, transit of commodities via Iran had increased 81 percent in the period from March 21 till October 22 of the present Iranian calendar year, in comparison to the corresponding period of last year.

Mir-Ashrafi stated that 6.948 million tons of commodities were transported through Iran in the mentioned time span. Iran is one of the nations that have a unique position in trade and transit ties because of its strategic place and distinct geography, as the state is the channel of numerous significant global passageways.
