Turkish economic growth feeds on service, exports sector

(MENAFN) According to Turkish economists on Tuesday, the industry-associated export and services field has been the major dynamic of Turkey’s economic development.

Based on the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) jumped 7.4 percent during the period from July to September in comparison to the corresponding period of last year.

But the figure was under market prediction as a group of 18 economists surveyed by Anadolu Agency the previous week predicted an average yearly growth of 8.1 percent for the mentioned period.

Erhan Aslanoglu, a professor from Istanbul-based Piri Reis University, declared that although the stated period’s growth was a tad under the market’s outlooks, it did not demonstrate a representation that altered year-end growth predictions.
